Renewable – Solar Tax Credits Are Ending
30% Federal Solar Tax Credit Ends December 31, 2025
The 30% Residential Clean Energy Credit (Section 25D) is one of the biggest incentives in the solar industry. It allows homeowners to claim a federal tax credit worth 30% of the total cost of installing a solar energy system, including solar panels, equipment, labor, and permitting.
However, recent legislation means this incentive will now expire on December 31, 2025, instead of phasing down gradually through 2032 as originally planned. That’s a hard deadline: to qualify, your residential solar system must be fully installed and operational by that date.
