Q: How long does it take to install solar panels?

Assuming minimal interference from any HOA we can go from you selecting your system to enjoying electricity production in 6-8 weeks. This timeline includes engineers drawings, permitting, installation, inspections, and final interconnection with the utility. The actual installation typically only takes 1-2 days.

Q: What happens if there’s a power outage from the grid?

If you have a solar standalone (solar panels only) system there’s nowhere to send excess electricity and so the system shuts down for safety until the grid is back up and running. If you have a transfer switch installed with your solar you will be able to use the electricity you produce through your panels (i.e. when the sun is out). If you have a battery storage system, you can continue to use stored energy to either a dedicated sub panel or the whole home depending on your system design.

Q: How much does it cost to install solar panels?

It depends on the system design as roof pitch, roof type, and panel location are big factors, but on average a system can range from $3/W to just under $4/W for the very complicated projects (assuming little to no concessions have been made on equipment quality).

Q: Is my location suitable for solar?

Solar can be viable in most regions, but some locations are more favorable due to sun exposure. A professional assessment can determine your solar potential and we will demonstrate the different levels of production you can achieve based on panel location.

Q: Can I install solar panels on my existing roof?

In most cases, solar panels can be installed on existing roofs. We will do an on-site visit to determine the feasibility and any necessary modifications.
